About Me

Hello! I’m Felicia, and I believe that people are astonishing, resilient beings who have the power to heal, grow, and reach fulfillment in life. I am passionate about helping those who experience anxiety and depression, as well as those who have undergone traumas. The goal of this practice is for you to feel safe and heard without fear of judgment. Finding ways to improve balance in life and enhancing self-compassion fosters a mindset that allows people to excel, and one that I incorporate in my sessions. I am curious, empathetic, direct, and proactive in looking at new emerging science and holistic approaches to support you. I wish to walk alongside you in navigating your challenges so you can live the life that you want, and feel confident in being your true self.

I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) under the BCACC, having graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with honours from Yorkville University. In addition to counselling, I have over 18 years experience as a Registered Nurse, working in various departments within hospital and community settings. It was through these nursing experiences that I first began to understand the detrimental effects of stress on patients and health care providers alike. These dual roles have given me an enhanced perspective of how physical and mental healths are intertwined and how improving one issue can positively impact another.

Meadowlark Counselling - Registered Clinical Counsellor Felicia Musa - Vernon, B.C.

Therapeutic Approaches

I believe you already possess a lot of inner wisdom and knowledge to heal yourself and that we should draw on your existing strengths. Exploring and reflecting on your values, emotions, behaviours, and interoceptive (body) awareness can help you develop the clarity you need to help overcome your current obstacles.

At Meadowlark, an integrative approach is taken. The therapies used are dependent on your needs and how we have decided to move forward together. I use a variety of evidence-based therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Interventions
  • Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)
  • Strength-Based Approach
  • Trauma-Informed Approach

In addition to anxiety, trauma, and depression, I am interested in helping those experiencing challenges with:

  • Burnout
  • Grief
  • Low Self-esteem
  • Life changes

The Meadowlark's Symbolism Symbolism

Meadowlarks sing at the first light of dawn, signifying a new day. In many cultures, meadowlarks symbolize a search for balance, hope, and pursuing new paths in life. Meadowlarks are found in Vernon in the spring to fall and are identified by their whistling melodic tune, spear-like beak and yellow, brown and black feathers.
